I'm taking advantage if the ham shank left from my Xmas dinner. Every recipe I looked at on the web was wildly different and my conclusion is to toss in whatever you have. This includes a can of chicken broth, the stuff that boiled off the ham bone, potato, left over yam, onions, broccoli stalk, zucchini, noodles, and spices. It's smelling fine. First time I've taken out this old crock pot in eons.
