Today marked the day my brother David was born, 60 years ago. Born severely mentally retarded, he passed away in 1987 at a mental age of maybe not more than 2. I found this baby book at my Mom's house. I found this too, a photo of a smiling David, maybe 3? 4? The photo is embedded inside a heavy piece of glass, like a paper weight. I keep this near where I sleep. I don;t know why; I believe it was something my father too held on to.
