Story behind the picture. A company, whom I had never heard of, contacted me and asked if they could use this photo of the Victorian Newark Castle Pier at Port Glasgow, Scotland, as the opening picture in their 2016 calendar. "Sure", I said, "go ahead, I don't sell my work, feel free to use it. How many calendars are you doing?" "We're doing an initial print run of about a one hundred" they said. "Would you mind sending me a couple", I asked. "Of course" they said. The calendars duly arrived with an accompanying letter thanking me for my photo and enclosing 3 calendars from their initial print run of 'one hundred thousand' calendars. If only .............
