Imperia is a statue created by German sculptor Peter Lenk in 1993. Situated at the entrance of the harbour of Konstanz, Germany, it rotates slowly around its axis. The two men sitting on her hands represent Pope Martin V and Emperor Sigismund who played a role during the Council of Konstanz (1414-1418). The statue refers to a short story by Balzac criticizing Catholic morals of that time. (Source: Wikipedia). As usual, I did not carry my tripod, so I took several photos freehand and combined them in Photoshop to create a stroboscopic effect of Imperia's rotation.
