A great end to a somewhat disappointing day: Golden hour at Kyleakin, shortly after a storm had passed. Earlier, we had toiled our way up the Bealach Na Ba from Loch Kishorn hoping to find a break in the unrelenting rain and some images of the Cuillin from the top, but no luck (driving rain and almost zero visibility). Then we headed to Kyleakin just across the Skye Bridge as I wanted to see how possible it would be to get the Castle silhouetted against a sunset with the Cuillin somewhere in the background, but the lie of the land wasn't going to give me enough height and it would be a LONG walk and it was still raining (yes, I know: no stamina or determination, some people LOL). All this time a storm was passing over Kyle and heading up Loch Alsh, As we headed back into Kyleakin itself the sun suddenly pierced a gap in the clouds so we diverted to the old ferry slipway to get the castle lit by the last of the sun against the storm clouds. Super... ...and then this brilliant rainbow suddenly appeared: orgasmic! As we were leaving, photographers were popping out of the woodwork and driving up in mini-buses and camper vans to catch the light on the castle against the black clouds and the rainbow, but unfortunately for them the best moment had already passed :)
