This is a composite image / photo illustration that I made from a bunch of old images and some new images. I saw a woman’s online dating profile a few years back and this woman had posted some photos of a shrine she had made to celebrate herself. I thought it was rather hilarious that someone would do that and I also thought that I could probably do a much better job of being self-obsessed. A few things I realized while making it were... I'm no stranger to gratuitous shirtlessness, even though I'm not really built for it. If your going to be self-obsessed/self-absorbed you might as well go all the way. I've watched way too much television. If your going to steal concepts always steal from the greats. This is an extremely f'd up image. The scene and the main image of myself were shot using my new Sony A6000 with the 16-50mm kit lens attached. For all shots I used two strobes, a yn-460ii and a yn-560ii each placed in 3'x2' soft boxes For the first exposure I placed a soft box on each side of the couch butted up against the wall pointing at the couch at a 90 degree angle to get highlights on the back corners of the couch. For the second exposure I moved the soft boxes to the right and left of the camera and pointed them directly at the wall beside the couch to eliminate all shadows on the wall cast by the couch. For the third exposure I left the softboxes to the right and left of the camera but pointed them at the front corners of the couch at a 45 degree angle to get highlights on the front corners of the couch. For the forth shot I moved the softboxes closer to the subject and left them at a 45 degree angle pointed at the subject. The stobes were triggered using PT-04 trigger/receivers All the photos on the wall are ambient light photos/composites that I have done over the past few years. I took all the Images into photoshop cs6 for some fancy/trendy editing and processing.
